Team Update

Taylor checked out LoHi Run Club on Thursday morning and immediately understood why so many people keep coming back every week. Between the different pace groups, welcoming community vibe, and rotating coffee shop meetups after the run, it feels like way more than just a workout. Whether you’re training seriously or just looking to meet active people in Denver, they’ve created a really fun environment that makes showing up easy. Safe to say this will be becoming a weekly routine.

Mitchell met his idol Mikey Mitch…everyone says “never meet your heroes” but Mikey is somehow a million times better in person. And oh yeah, Taylor met some girls named Rachel and Courtney…apparently they’re pretty into running too.

Studio Spotlight: Sundrop Pilates
Interview with Madison Romer, Founder

Tell me a little bit about yourself and what led to opening Sundrop Pilates

I’m 32 and originally from Boulder. I actually graduated from law school in 2024 and took the bar exam last year. Around that time, life kind of pushed me in a different direction. A friend told me, ‘You should open the studio,’ and honestly, everything just started falling into place from there. I’ve done Pilates for years, it’s been part of my life since I was 18, and I always had this vision of creating a space that felt different from anything else out there.

Sundrop is such a unique name. Where did it come from?

I spent a lot of time in New York and was inspired by the wellness studios there — beautiful spaces that feel immersive the second you walk in. I wanted to create something that felt warm, elevated, and calming. The name ‘Sundrop’ comes from the infrared heat and the idea of soaking in warmth, light, and energy almost like getting a dose of sunshine and vitamin D while you work out.

The infrared heat and Himalayan salt wall immediately stand out. What makes those features special?

Infrared heat is really important to me because it’s completely different from traditional heated fitness studios. Instead of just blasting hot air through HVAC, infrared heat warms your body from the inside out. What’s cool is you don’t necessarily feel like you’re overheating, but your core temperature is rising and your body is working harder. That makes it amazing for recovery, circulation, mood boosting, detoxification, and getting a more intense workout without it feeling miserable. The Himalayan salt wall adds another layer to the experience. It’s calming, supports respiratory health, and just creates this really grounding energy in the room. Together, the combination is pretty special. Most people walk out feeling energized instead of depleted.

What types of classes do you offer?

We currently offer two signature formats: Flow and Heavy. Flow is our more traditional Pilates-based class. You spend most of the workout on the mat, the pace is a little slower, and the music is more mellow. It’s still challenging, but it’s great for recovery days or anyone newer to Pilates. Heavy is my baby. It was the first class I created and honestly my dream workout. Think Solidcore meets HIIT strength training. It’s more athletic and intense because you’re incorporating heavier weights, cardio intervals, and block-based programming so you know exactly what muscle groups you’re working. t’s still rooted in Pilates principles, but with a much more performance-focused feel.

It sounds like there’s something for everyone. Are the workouts beginner friendly?

Absolutely. We welcome all levels. If someone is new, we always encourage them to let us know before class so we can help them get comfortable and provide modifications if needed. Our instructors are really hands-on about helping people adjust movements or level them up depending on experience or injuries. I actually have a broken hand right now and my instructors were helping me modify movements this week so I could still take class.

Any exciting events coming up?

We have several wellness-focused events planned this summer. One upcoming event is centered around creatine education and supplementation, which I’m really passionate about. We also just hosted a skincare event that sold out completely. Guests received customized skincare consultations and products tailored to their skin. There will definitely be more community wellness events like that coming soon.

What’s the best way for people to find you or try a class?

Sundrop Pilates is located two blocks west of Sloan’s Lake in Edgewater. You can book classes directly through our website or through the Sundrop Pilates app.
